Comoros: strategic support for local competitiveness
June 21, 2024The project to formalise the network of entrepreneurship support structures supported by the APILE project culminated in a General Assembly attended by several entrepreneurship support structures on 24 August at the Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Crafts (UCCIA). This event marked the official launch of the KOMSAE network, which is part of a process of formal structuring aimed at increasing the impact of the initiatives undertaken and strengthening support for young entrepreneurs and Comorian businesses.
Chaired by Mr Said Hachim Fouad of INNOV’LAB, the meeting brought together 13 organisations involved in supporting entrepreneurs, including Innov’lab, Comor’lab, ANPI and Comwork. These bodies approved the statutes, internal rules and regulations and set up an executive committee to manage the KOMSAE network.
At the end of the meeting, the members present elected the members of the KOMSAE Board:
– President: Said Hachim Fouad (INNOV’LAB)
– Secretary General: Fakih Abdallah (Com’work)
– Treasurer: Fakridine Mohamed (OUSSAID)
– Communications Officer: Farouk Anouir (Ghiyada Africa)
– Monitoring and Evaluation Officer: Laim Lahadji Laguera (FADESIM)
The newly elected board is responsible for coordinating the network’s activities, with the aim of bringing together the efforts of local actors in the field of business support.
Among its first decisions, the board has committed itself to formalising KOMSAE legally and to drawing up a roadmap to structure its actions. In addition, a mission to Madagascar took place in October 2024 in partnership with BIC Africa and with the support of the APILE project, which gave five member organisations the opportunity to participate in an exchange and training programme.
Through this network, the Comorian incubators aim to provide effective and structured support to the country’s entrepreneurs, giving them a new dynamism while promoting the economic development of the Comoros.
